BHS Quadrivium to Perform at The Hanover Theater
On Thursday, May 4, 2017, The Burncoat High School Select Chorus, Quadrivium, will take the stage at The Hanover Theater to open the show for the a cappella group Six Appeal.
The Quad earned the opportunity to be an opening act for this acclaimed vocal group by winning The Second Annual WEC’appella Competition on Saturday, April 8, 2017, at Mechanics Hall.
The WEC’appella Competition featured excellent performances by choruses from South High Community School, Doherty Memorial High School, Abby Kelley Foster Regional Charter High School and Burncoat High School in the "High School Division" and choruses from Assumption College, Clark University, The College of the Holy Cross, Anna Maria College and Worcester Polytechnic Institute in the "College Division." "Hound Sound" from Assumption College won the ‘College Division’ and will follow The Quad onto the Hanover stage on May 4.
Also, as the winners of WEC’appella, The Quad and Hound Sound will return to the stage at Mechanic’s Hall on October 15, 2017 to open the show for "
Young@Heart," a renown a cappella ensemble comprised of senior-citizens from Western Massachusetts.
This is not Quadrivium’s first time in front of a large audience. In December of 2016, they took the stage in front of an audience of 15,000 at Mohegan Sun with superstar Kenny Rogers, with whom they have performed 5 times. Over the years, The Quad has also worked with Ayla Brown of "American Idol," Sam James of "The Voice," country music stars Billy Dean, Rebecca Lynn Howard and Linda Davis and in notable venues up and down the East Coast of The United States including The Massachusetts State House in Boston, The National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. and Carnegie Hall in New York City.
